Νάρκισσος, ου, ὁ Narcissus, a name found rather freq. among slaves and freedmen (Tacitus, Ann. 13, 1; Sueton., Claudius 28; Cass. Dio 64, 3, 4; IMagnMai 122d, 14; IHierap 80; IG XII, 8, 548, 2; CIL VI 4123; 4346; 5206 al.). Paul greets οἱ ἐκ τῶν Ναρκίσσου οἱ ὄντες ἐν κυρίῳ those belonging to the household of Narcissus who are Christians Ro 16:11 (slaves of Ν. are meant. Cp. Narcissiani CIL III 3973, VI 15640).—LGPN I.
